In short

Substitute Ratio (substituteratio.com) is a static reference site. It does not set cookies, does not use your browser’s local storage or session storage, and runs no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site. There are no accounts, comments, or forms, so nothing you type is collected.

What is processed, and why

Server logs. Our hosting and content delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes the technical details of each request (such as IP address, time, page requested, and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website. We do not add analytics to these logs or use them to profile visitors. Cloudflare keeps them under its own policy, and may process them outside your country.

Email. If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you. We delete the conversation when it is finished unless you ask us to keep it.

We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions.

Links to other sites

Links to university Extension and USDA pages go straight to those sites with no tracking parameters. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another place with similar laws, you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and you can object to how we use it. Write to hello@substituteratio.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

If this page ever changes, for example because we add analytics, it will say what is collected and why before the change goes live.
